1. READY TO WEAR JACKET (RTW)

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF AND WHAT SUIT OPTIONS DO YOU HAVE IN STORE?

Collection of morning suits made with 100% wool Super S110's fabrics from the Italian house Vitale Barberis Canonico; made with a pattern calibrated and perfected by our team of pattern makers. In this case, it would be the shoulders of each client that defines the appropriate size for each one; That is, we would try on the client - once the morning suit model had been selected - different sizes and we would advise him on the one that would fit him perfectly on the shoulders. Once the correct size was chosen, the garment would be adjusted to the client's body measurements so that it would fit perfectly.

These are garments with very high quality finishes, such as our notch and spearhead lapels, interwoven and non-fused interiors, operable buttonholes, among many other details that will not go unnoticed.

As an additional important detail to emphasize, the arrangements and repairs that are required are included in the price and we do them in our own workshop, we do not outsource .

WHAT MODELS OF READY-MADE JACKET DO YOU HAVE AND WHAT IS THEIR PRICE?

we have 3 permanent models of morning suits within our collection; these are:

  1. Medium Gray Morning Suit 3 Pieces (frock coat + vest + pants - all in medium gray). There are usually 3 shades of gray: charcoal gray, medium gray and light gray. Charcoal gray is recommended only for evening weddings, light gray is recommended only for daytime weddings, while medium gray is suitable, by protocol, for both daytime and evening weddings - this is precisely what is why we offer the medium gray, very pretty. The price of this morning suit option would be €869.95 with the garment adjustments included.
  2. Navy Blue Morning Suit 3 Pieces (frock coat + vest + pants - all in navy blue). Increasingly popular option. The navy blue morning suit has been gaining ground on the classic morning suit and is a very successful option for both grooms and witnesses. The price of this morning suit option would be €869.95 with the garment adjustments included.
  3. Classic 2 Piece Morning Suit (black frock coat + gray striped pants). In this case, the vest is not included since, for this type of morning suit, the vest combinations selected by customers are many and very varied. The price of this morning suit option would be €769.95 with adjustments included.

In addition, and on a variable basis each season, we make new models of morning coats different from those in our permanent collection - that is, morning coats with herringbone weave, Prince of Wales weave, etc. To check the availability of these models you can write to us at contact@oldjeffrey.com .

HOW MUCH IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO GO TO OLD JEFFREY IF I CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF SUIT?

If this is the selected option, we would recommend coming to Old Jeffrey at least 3 weeks in advance since, once we have adjusted the garment in the store, it would take us approximately 1 week to work on it.

After the week of alterations, we would meet you to try on the morning suit. If any additional adjustment is required due to the appearance of small wrinkles and with the aim of "fine-tuning" the garment, we would again need an additional week to make the garment perfect.

Generally, for this type of morning suits, a single fitting is almost always enough, however, we always recommend coming to see us with that extra time in case any additional adjustment is needed.

2. JACKET MADE TO ORDER (MTO)

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?

In this case, we want to introduce new intermediate service between clothing and custom tailoring and we think it could be interesting.

That is, based on the pattern of our tailored morning coats (RTW), we give the option of making a new morning coat from scratch but, in this case, choosing any fabric from among the more than 3,000 available that we put at your disposal from the most renowned Italian and English houses. This is an ideal service for:

  • Clients for whom our tailoring pattern fits but who, however, are looking to choose a specific combination of fabrics with which to make their new morning suit.
  • Clients with a marked difference in size between the frock coat and the pants . In this case, they could request that the frock coat and pants be made independently and in the appropriate size.

At the same time, as it is a morning coat that is made from scratch and to order, it is possible to choose details related to the design of the suit, that is, such as mother-of-pearl or antler buttons, a different lining, embroidering your initials on the inside. of the jacket or the frock coat, etc.

Once the ready-made morning suit is received, the testing process is the same as in the previous case, it is sent to our own workshop to make it perfect and, obviously, at no additional cost.

The casuistry of process said would be as follows:

  1. Pattern testing and size detection . We would call you in our tailoring shop to try on our pattern and, based on this, we would detect your size, separately, for both the frock coat, pants and vest. Based on this size, we would define the adjustments to be made to the pattern and, based on these, we would make a new morning coat from scratch for you.
  2. Fabric selection . In this case, it would be the fabric that would determine the final RRP of the morning suit. In this case, we have a large number of fabric references in the store.

WHAT MTO JACKET OPTIONS DO I HAVE AND WHAT IS THE PRICE?

There are countless options! Regarding the price of the made-to-measure morning coats, and as we have had the opportunity to comment in the previous point, it would be approximately €1,150 for the morning coat in 2-piece format (frock coat + pants) and € 1,400 for the morning suit in 3-piece format (frock coat + pants + vest)

HOW MUCH IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO GO TO OLD JEFFREY IF I CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF SUIT?

If this is the selected option, we would recommend coming to Old Jeffrey 2 months in advance since it would take 5 weeks to make the garment from scratch and, once made, we would meet you at Old Jeffrey to try it on. There is the possibility of shortening times depending on each case and under specific requests - in this case, this would be the opportunity to discuss it directly with our tailoring team.

In any case, we recommend, whenever possible, to organize the process at least 2 months in advance in order to ensure that you go more smoothly and, above all, enjoy the process.

Once the garment is made, we would use the first test to detect, if any, any wrinkles or, on the contrary, if the garment was perfect. If any adjustment is required due to the appearance of small wrinkles and with the aim of "fine-tuning" the garment, we would need a rigorous week to carry out the adjustments.

In general, a single "batch" of adjustments would almost always be enough, however, we always recommend coming to see us with that extra time in case any additional adjustments are needed.

3. JACKET MADE TO MEASURE (MTM)

We are moving forward with our Made to measure custom tailoring service, where our tailors will take the measurements with the help of a morning coat called a "witness" which we have digitized in our central computer and we will proceed to make the anatomical modifications, modifying that base pattern to that becomes the exclusive pattern of our client.

In this type of morning suit, you can customize absolutely everything, the shape and width of the lapels, the pattern of the pockets, the model of pants and vest, in addition to choosing all the trims, such as the lining, the felpic, the buttons. and the thread with which said buttons are sewn as well as embroidering the initials on the inside of the frock coat.

WHAT MTM JACKET OPTIONS DO I HAVE AND WHAT IS THE PRICE?

There are countless options! Regarding the price of the made-to-measure morning coats, and as we have had the opportunity to comment in the previous point, it would be approximately €1,450 for the morning coat in 2-piece format (frock coat + pants) and € 1,800 for the morning suit in 3-piece format (frock coat + pants + vest)

HOW MUCH IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO GO TO OLD JEFFREY IF I CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF SUIT?

Same as Made to Order (MTO) jacket.

4. BESPOKE SUIT

As a final step, we are proud to have our tailoring line Bespoke , also known as Craft measure .

In this case, our tailors would take anatomical measurements directly from the client and design the morning coat with the purest details of traditional custom tailoring, that is, hand-made buttonholes and stitching, a completely interlined interior without any type of glue or fusing, cupro or viscose linings, plain or printed, etc.

For this type of tailoring we require at least 3 months to have the finished garments since, once we take the measurements, we will manually design the client's pattern in our workshop and, subsequently, we will carry out the manual cutting of the garment.

After the cutting process, the assembly of the pieces will be carried out using basting and loose stitches and a first test that we call "positioning" will be carried out; At this point, we will have the skeleton of the garment - sleeveless in the case of the frock coat and unfinished lengths and widths in the case of the pants and vest.

Once the "settlement" test has been carried out, it is our turn: we will work in the workshop in order to correct details, add the sleeves and finish the construction of the garment.

Immediately afterwards, the client would be called for a second "fine-tuning" test and, if there were any small additional details to correct, a third definitive test would be done prior to delivering the perfect garment to the client.

WHAT BESPOKE SUIT OPTIONS DO I HAVE AND WHAT IS THE PRICE?

In this particular case we work under a prior budget that will be evaluated and notified to the client after their informative appointment in which they tell us what design and manufacturing requirements they are looking for. In any case, the price for this type of 3-piece garment made 100% handmade is from €4,350.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MADE TO MEASURE SERVICE AND BESPOKE ?

The difference between both methodologies lies, mainly, in the preparation process after taking the client's measurements; We explain it below.

  1. Preparation of the pattern after taking the client's measurements . In the case of Made to Measure tailoring, to obtain the client's pattern, we use witnesses with a base pattern from which we make corrections and obtain the client's final pattern. On the other hand, in the Bespoke tailoring service, taking measurements is direct and obtaining the pattern is manual and is carried out through calculations and generation of curvatures based on tailor's rules.

  2. Cutting of the fabric . For the Made to Measure tailoring case, the pattern obtained for each client is digitized and the scrap of fabric chosen to make the garment is cut very precisely by a cutting machine. On the contrary, in the Bespoke service, our tailor will cut the garment manually with special tailor's scissors for this purpose.

  3. Assembly of the garment . In the case of Made To Measure tailoring, our sewing team is made up of 10 people who will carry out the final preparation of the garment. For this case, each member of the team will specialize in a part of the garment (sleeves, front, etc.) and, ultimately, the garment is assembled together. In this process, the sewing will be carried out in a mixed way, that is, long stitches with a sewing machine and details finished by hand. On the other hand, in the case of artisanal tailoring (Bespoke), the complete tailoring will be carried out manually by our specialized tailor.
